All persons who intend to get married in Colorado State must obtain a Marriage License. U.S. Marriage Laws explains the procedure for obtaining a Marriage License in the State of Colorado.


Marriage License Application

  • ID Requirement:

  • In Colorado, you will need to bring government issued ID such as your drivers license, visa, passport, state or military ID. Bring your social security cards, too.

  • Residency Requirement in Colorado: Neither one of you have to be a resident of Colorado.

  • Covenant Marriage Option: No.

  • Waiting Period: There is no waiting period for getting married in Colorado.

  • Blood Test: No.

  • Fees: Marriage license is $30. Cash Only. No Credit Cards or Checks Accepted.

  • Previous Marriages: Divorced persons must provide the approximate date of divorce and a location where the decree was issued. If the divorce occurred within 90 days of the request for a marriage license, a copy of the decree must also be present.
